  Topics Addressed at at Last Meeting of June 19, 2008 :

  The Sub-Committee discussed a draft report on recommendations to the Discernment Committee. Revisions were suggested and a revised report will be circulated within the week for any further revisions or suggestions.Several themes emerged as the group reviewed the information.
  • External groups are welcome to use St. Thomas’ space, and we should continue to make it available as a service to the community, but the needs of the parish should always come first.
  • A fully-functioning kitchen is a high priority for many parishioners.
  • Space should be “expandable” and adaptable so that small spaces can open up into larger spaces, and space should be able to be used for multiple purposes and allow for that (with the exception of Godly Play and the Choir Room).
  • Serving age-specific groups (such as Sacred Grounds and the Society of St. Thomas) is important to the parish and space being designed should facilitate the needs of these groups.

  NEXT MEETING:

  This was the final meeting of the sub-committee, so no further meetings are planned. Two new parishioners participated on the committee, Topher Bengtson and Eric Tipler, and their ideas and energy were refreshing and especially welcome.
