Topics Addressed at Last Meeting on June 3, 2008:

A major issue remains getting weekly reports on a timely basis from all the subcommittees in time for Sunday publication and announcing their next meetings. Brad will check in with each subcommittee chair on Thursday. He’ll also make a pitch for their use of discussion threads on the web site and Bulletin Board and ask for additional topics that could be added to both. A side bar will be added to the weekly report about discussion topics on the web site. Members of our subcommittee are urged to complete phone calls soliciting parishioner input this week. We checked out the Discernment Bulletin Board during our meeting for comments/ questions. Laptop demo of website at coffee hour on 6/1 did not happen because the wifi doesn’t reach there. Jean will check with Nate on how to get around this. Jerry notes that this subcommittee will continue in existence after the other subcommittees have wrapped up their work. We will work with the general Discernment Committee through the summer.

NEXT MEETING:

Current plans to meet on 6/9, 6/16, 6/23, 6/30 at the church, 7PM. Subject to change. Please contact one of the co-chairs.

Agenda Items:

Weekly reports, of course! Continued assessment of e-mail blasts, personal phone calls, Sunday handout, web site and bulletin board in meeting our communication needs. Discussion of the personal contacts/ phone calls made with non-participants in the Discernment process. Further discussion for publicity/info gathering/web demo during coffee hour.

Feedback Needed from Parishioners: Please continue to let us know what additional information you need to hear from the Discernment Committee and the subcommittees, as well as which modes of communication you feel may be most effective. Please speak to us directly or add comments and thoughts through this web site or on our Bulletin Board in the Guild Room!
